The Observatory said it will issue the Standby Signal No. 1 later on Sunday night.

It said Tropical Cyclone Nalgae has entered within 800 kilometres of Hong Kong and is expected to move towards the northern part of the South China Sea.

Forecasters said Nalgae, together with a northeast monsoon, will bring windy weather to Hong Kong in the next few days.

They urged those who have to be outdoors for work or exercise to beware of changing weather conditions, adding that the outer rainbands of Nalgae are expected to bring squally showers in the middle of the week.
