The government on Tuesday called on the public to fill in a survey on balloting arrangements for recreation and sports facilities which will be implemented next year.

The new system is aimed at stamping out touting.

Sessions at various facilities, such as tennis courts and badminton courts, will be allocated via a balloting system, while "remaining sessions will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis under the existing mechanism," the government said.

The public can use the survey to indicate whether they agree with the planned balloting system for various venues.

Last month, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced a new set of measures to combat touting, including longer suspensions for people caught transferring user permits without permission.
