Hong Kong stocks opened with big losses on Tuesday following a surge of around 15 percent since the start of last week, and after strong US data fuelled fears the Federal Reserve will stick to its tough monetary tightening.
The Hang Seng Index sank 1.57 percent, or 306.59 points, to 19,211.70.
The Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.36 percent, or 11.54 points, to 3,200.28, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange slipped 0.36 percent, or 7.38 points, to 2,055.25. (AFP)
