Four newly-elected lawmakers were sworn in at an oath-taking ceremony in the Legislative Council on Monday.

The ceremony for the four to swear allegiance to the Hong Kong SAR and the Basic Law took place a day after the by-election. It was administered by Chief Executive John Lee and attended by existing legislators.

William Wong, an engineering scholar from the Chinese University, had to take his oath again as the secretary general of the Legco secretariat, Kenneth Chen, told him that some words in his oath had been unclear.

The other newly-elected legislators are DAB's Chan Wing-kwong, Adrian Ho of the New People's Party and Shang Hailong from an artificial intelligence firm.

A government statement issued later in the day said Lee has determined that the oaths taken by the four are valid.
