A union representing cabin crew members of Cathay Pacific said it is planning a work-to-rule campaign to fight for better working conditions.
The Cathay Pacific Airways Flight Attendants Union made the announcement on its Facebook page on Thursday night, saying it had received a unanimous endorsement by members who attended a recent special meeting.
“We sincerely seek your moral and physical support for our action and genuine good cause in striving for you all,” the union said in a statement.
It said it is demanding sufficient layover rest time, better welfare and rostering.
It added that a step-by-step guideline video will be provided to members on how to carry out the industrial action.
In response, Cathay said it will continue to listen to and act upon feedback from the crew.
It noted it had earlier offered a 3.3-percent pay rise for all eligible employees, plus an ex-gratia payment, in recognition of their commitment and effort.
It added that most of the concerns raised by the union regarding the roster had been resolved and will be implemented from next month.
The airline said its flight services will continue as scheduled.
“We are confident that our cabin crew will continue to work in the same professional manner they have throughout the pandemic,” it said.
