Macau on Tuesday announced it is offering free bus or ferry tickets to travellers from Hong Kong who spend at least a night in the gambling hub, in a bid to revive its tourism sector.
Its tourism office said from Friday, Hong Kong residents purchasing a Macau-bound ferry or bus ticket via TurboJET, Cotai Water Jet, and the Hong Kong-Macao Express, and staying at least one night in the city, will be offered a complimentary return ticket.
The offer will run until the end of March, with Macau authorities expecting more public transport operators to take part in the campaign.
The gaming hub eased its entry restrictions on Sunday and scrapped a requirement for Hong Kong visitors to obtain a negative Covid test result before heading there.
5,769 people crossed from Hong Kong to Macau on Monday.
