Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi on Friday, in which a 75-year-old man died after his light goods vehicle reportedly lost control and rammed into a concrete pumping machine. The incident happened just before 7.30 pm as the vehicle was approaching a roundabout on Tsing Yi Hong Wan Road.
The man was left trapped in his vehicle and had to be freed by firefighters. He sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital, where he was declared dead about an hour later.
A 67-year-old woman, who was also in the vehicle, suffered injuries to her limbs. She remained conscious and was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital.
