Police said they're investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui on Friday morning in which an 85-year-old woman died.

They said that at about 11.20am, a public light bus driven by a 74-year-old man was travelling along Sui Wan Road towards Tung Kok Wai, and reportedly knocked down the elderly woman as it pulled out from a bus stop.

They said the woman sustained leg injuries, and was taken to North District Hospital, before being transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital, where she was certified dead at 2.48pm.

Police said the driver of the public light bus has been arrested for dangerous driving causing death, and have appealed for witnesses to the accident to contact them.
