Search and rescue efforts at a coal mine in Inner Mongolia resumed on Thursday after they were put on hold following a massive landslide, local authorities said.
The mine collapse on Wednesday killed at least five people. Six were injured and 48 others are missing.
Rescue work had been suspended for several hours following an additional landslide at the facility hours after the mine collapse in the region's Alxa League.
About 900 rescuers with heavy equipment were on the scene, and work had resumed by Thursday morning.
President Xi Jinping has instructed authorities to "do everything possible to search for and rescue the missing people," CCTV reported.
It's not clear yet what caused the mine collapse. (Agencies)
