Police on Sunday confirmed that they'd found a head and ribs in their investigation of the killing and dismemberment of a woman in Tai Po.

Officers searching for the remains of a 28-year-old woman, understood to be fashion influencer Abby Choi, said they believed them to be hers.

They added that forensics experts had found a hole in the skull behind the right ear caused by a hard object, and this was believed to have been the probable cause of death.

The remains were found in a cooking pot seized from a village house in Tai Po where the woman's limbs were discovered in a fridge on Friday.

Officers have spent much of the weekend checking the Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery, with divers searching a catchwater and abseilers checking the slopes.

Earlier on Sunday, police laid a holding charge of murder against two men, while a woman was charged with perverting the course of justice in connection with the case.

The three were arrested on Friday. The men are aged 31 and 65 while the woman is 63. A fourth suspect, aged 28, was arrested in Tung Chung on Saturday and has also been charged with murder.

They will appear at Kowloon City Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

Police said a fifth suspect, a 47-year-old woman, was arrested on Sunday in connection with the case.

The Kowloon West Regional Crime Unit is investigating.
