The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong on Friday said it is demanding a report from the Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association, after it found that the association did not collect a toolkit designed to help avoid blunders with the national anthem before setting off for a tournament in Bosnia.

The competition on Tuesday was the scene of the latest in a series of blunders in which a song associated with the 2019 protests was played in place of 'March of the Volunteers'.

The committee said the toolkit contains two storage devices with recordings of the national anthem, and all of its member sports associations are required to pick it up before heading off for an international tournament

A spokesman for the committee said it’s asked the Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association and the International Ice Hockey Federation to submit an investigation report before next Friday, and explain why the relevant guidelines had not been followed.

It said it has also reached out to international sports organisations, urging them not to download the national anthem from unofficial sources.
