The Hospital Authority (HA) has reported two more malfunction incidents at public hospitals, following a recent spate of problems with its equipment and facilities.
The HA said the circuit board of a patient call bell light box set outside a medical ward cubicle at Queen Mary Hospital malfunctioned at about 3:30pm on Sunday.
Separately, a tube device at the nurse station at North District Hospital also malfunctioned at about 3pm on Monday, and the HA said preliminary inspection indicates that it had to do with a circuit board problem.
"Both wards are installed with proper devices to ascertain electricity safety. No patients nor staff were injured in the incidents. Patient services were not affected," an HA spokesman said in a statement.
The authority earlier announced that it would set up a committee to review the maintenance of its medical equipment and facilities.
