Hong Kong shares opened slightly higher on Thursday morning, ignoring losses on Wall Street, although traders remained on edge after the Hong Kong Monetary Authority increased its Base Rate for lenders by a quarter of a percentage point following the latest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.14 percent to 19,619.
Meanwhile, the Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.31 percent, to 3,255, while the Shenzhen Composite Index eased 0.35 percent, to 2,091. (AFP)
