An immigration assistant was on Wednesday sentenced to 140 hours of community service by the Eastern Magistrates' Courts for entering his workplace with a fake LeaveHomeSafe app.
The 29-year-old defendant was earlier convicted of trespassing into a tenement of a public department, for using the fake app to enter the Immigration Tower two years ago.
In mitigation, the defence lawyer said the case was an isolated incident and called for a lenient sentence.
Magistrate Gary Lam handed down a 140-hour community service order after considering the case and mitigation.
Meanwhile, another defendant who had earlier pleaded guilty for the same offence was sentenced to 80 hours of community service.
