Police say they have arrested two men for allegedly shooting water at officers and the press at a water splashing event on Sunday.
The Songkran Festival had returned to Kowloon City for the first time since the pandemic, with more than 10,000 people taking part in celebrations to mark the Thai New Year.
Police said water was fired at officers at close range for three minutes, despite their warnings for the culprits to stop.
Two men aged 25 and 26 were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct in a public place, the force said on Wednesday.
"We won't rule out that the actions were premeditated, and more people may be arrested," said chief inspector Cheung Lok-chuen.
