Police on Friday said they had arrested a man after a suspect in a court case allegedly escaped from custody by switching his ID wristband with that of another defendant.
The alleged ID swap on Monday led to police releasing a man meant to be remanded in custody, while a defendant granted bail remained in a holding cell at West Kowloon Court.
Officers said they arrested a man, 37, in Yau Ma Tei on Thursday night. He is suspected of escaping from lawful custody and misleading the police.
A 24-year-old man appeared in court on Thursday, also accused of misleading officers. He was remanded in custody.
