Police said on Friday that they have launched a probe after receiving a report from a woman who claimed that her three-year-old daughter might have been mistreated at school.
Officers said the mother informed the police that she found bruises on her daughter's private parts, after picking her up from a nursery school in Shek Kip Mei on Wednesday.
The force said they’re following up on the case, and no one has been arrested so far.
The school's sponsoring body, the Hong Kong Christian Service, said in a statement that the school will fully cooperate with the investigation, adding that it hasn't noticed anything suspicious after going through surveillance camera footage from the day.
The Education Bureau, for its part, said it's contacted the school and its sponsoring body to find out more about what happened.
It's asked the school to handle the matter seriously and file a report to the bureau.
