Police on Sunday said they have arrested a man on suspicion of trying to rob four shops in Sham Shui Po.
They said they received a report at about 10am that the suspect had allegedly threatened a shopkeeper at a convenience store on Tai Po Road, using a pair of scissors.
They said the 35-year-old suspect fled after being ignored, but then he went to three other shops and robbed HK$1,000 from a convenience store.
Inspector Cheng Yuen-lam said the suspect also allegedly hurt a shopkeeper.
"At a convenience store on Yu Chau Street, the suspect allegedly attacked a shopkeeper with a pair of scissors, leaving a three-centimetre long mark on the woman's left arm. The shopkeeper was taken to hospital for treatment," he said.
Cheng added that officers arrested the suspect at about 11 am after going through surveillance camera footage.
The suspect was being detained for questioning.
