Police on Tuesday launched a new website aimed at providing one-stop crime prevention information to members of the public.

Police Commissioner Raymond Siu said the website, SafeCity.HK, will help local residents and tourists better protect themselves.

He added that the website also contains educational materials.

"This website contains an education resources session. We hope this can help teachers teach crime prevention knowledge in schools, so students' awareness to crime trends can be increased," he said

"This can also prevent teenagers from becoming victims of crime, and strengthen their awareness to abide to the law.”

The police chief added that the force's Crime Alerts Network, established early last year, has sent out crime prevention messages to over two million users through WhatsApp.
