Hong Kong stocks opened slightly higher on Tuesday morning following four days of losses, with attention on the United States as lawmakers debate a bill to lift the country's debt ceiling.
The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.12 percent to 18,574.
The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.21 percent to 3,215, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange dropped 0.21 percent to 1,998. (AFP)
