A giant rubber duck that bobbed around in Victoria Harbour 10 years ago will be back there from June 10, and this time with its friend.
The yellow inflatable duo will spend around two weeks splashing about near Tamar Park, depending on the weather, the event organiser said on Thursday.
Their creator, Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, said in a statement that the artwork emphasises friendship and getting connected.
“Double duck is double luck," he said.
"Due to Covid we learned that spending time together is so valuable. Making moments and memories for real, living in the here and now, are things to cling on to. The digital world and living on our devices make us sometimes so blunted. Art can open your eyes and spark up your soul."
Hofman's duck has been on a world tour since 2007.
