Premier Li Qiang said China's development brings opportunities rather than risks to the world.

Li also called for stronger ties between China and the European Union during his meeting with European Council President Charles Michel on the sidelines of the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact in Paris.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the premier said "there is no conflict of fundamental interests between China and the EU."

Li said the two sides should enhance mutual trust and address concerns through cooperation.

Michel said China's development is beneficial to the EU and the world, and the EU does not intend to contain China's development.

Li, who's on an official visit to France, on Thursday also held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, whose office said the two leaders discussed a number of topics including Ukraine and Taiwan. (Agencies)
