A woman died after being struck by a bus in Kowloon Bay on Friday night.
The 65-year-old woman was trapped under the vehicle after the accident, which happened in Wai Yip Street, near the Kai Fuk Road flyover, at around 11 pm. The bus had been heading towards Mong Kok.
Firefighters were able to free her but she was unconscious when taken to United Christian Hospital where she was declared dead about an hour later.
The 26-year-old driver of the public bus has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death. He was being detained for enquiries as of Saturday morning. The Kowloon East special traffic investigation team is looking into the case.
