The police are investigating a traffic accident in Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon in which a 47-year-old woman died.

At about 6.30 pm, a medium goods vehicle, or MGV, driven by a 32-year-old man was travelling eastbound along Wong Chuk Hang Road.

When it reached Ocean Park Road, the MGV reportedly hit the woman, who was crossing the street.

She was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital in an unconscious state with serious head injuries, and was certified dead at 8.14 pm.

The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
