Hong Kong’s latest unemployment rate has dropped further to 2.9 percent – the lowest level in almost four years.
Official data released on Tuesday showed that the jobless rate for the three months to June was 0.1 percentage points lower than the previous period.
The underemployment rate also dropped slightly to 1.1 percent.
In a statement, the government said sectors such as retail, accommodation, arts and entertainment saw substantial falls in unemployment.
The Acting Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Ho Kai-ming, attributed the improvement to the ongoing economic recovery.
"The labour market should improve further in the coming months as the economic recovery gathers further strength,” he said.
