The Hong Kong team on Monday won a bronze medal in the women's team table tennis event at the World University Games.

This is the first time table tennis players from the SAR have bagged a medal at the competition.

The athletes, consisting of Doo Hoi-kem, Minnie Soo and Lam Yee-lok, lost to Japan 3-0.

Doo, the Olympic bronze medallist, said she hopes to do better in the following competitions, as she said she knows a lot of Hongkongers support them.
