The Labour Department on Monday said it's investigating a fatal accident at a sports centre in Kwai Chung.
A worker repairing lights fell to the ground when a three-metre elevated work platform he was on toppled over.
The 69-year-old man was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials said they will complete the investigation of the accident as soon as possible to identify its cause and to try to ascertain who was responsible.
They have issued notices to the contractors to suspend the use of the work platform at the North Kwai Chung Tang Shiu Kin Sports Centre, saying work cannot resume until they are satisfied that measures have been taken to ensure it's safe.
