The swimming pool of a private club in Tsuen Wan has been turned into a primate paradise, after a video showing dozens of monkeys taking over the pool and enjoying a leisurely dip went viral.

The video, which was posted on social media on Monday, shows over 30 monkeys swimming, playing, and soaking up the sun on the lounge beds at the Hill Top Country Club in Lo Wai.

The netizen who took the video could be heard saying: “Wow, there are so many of them. This has now turned into a monkey swimming pool. Look, they’re having so much fun”.

“This almost feels like Japan. It’s like one of those hot springs for monkeys.”

The Hill Top Country Club, for its part, said on its website that the pool is closed until further notice for cleaning and disinfection.
