The Labour Department (LD) is investigating following the death of a demolition worker on Saturday in Yuen Long. The 40-year-old man had been tearing down a house in Tin Liu Tsuen, when a brick wall toppled over and hit him.

"We commenced an immediate on-site investigation as soon as we were notified of the accident and issued a suspension notice to the occupier of the premises, suspending the building structure demolition work," a Labour Department spokesman said.

Police say the accident happened at around 4 pm.

The man was unconscious when taken to Pok Oi Hospital. He was declared dead a short time later.
