Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden on Monday said a lizard that had been missing for two weeks has been found.
The 1.5-metre-long water monitor lizard, named Aberdeen, escaped from an enclosure where it was being treated for a toe injury.
The farm issued a public appeal to help find the reptile, saying it could have wandered across the territory.
But it seems the lizard didn't go far and it was eventually spotted by a visitor to the farm, near where it went missing.
"He appeared a bit dismayed about the sudden end to his adventure but once inside his familiar home seemed content that his walkabout was over," the farm said.
