Police on Thursday said they had laid a holding charge against a 51-year-old woman with one count of murder.

The woman was arrested on Wednesday after the death of a 79-year-old woman at the Kwun Tong Community Health Centre.

The police - which had earlier classified the case as a fight - said it received a report from the centre just before 3pm on Wednesday.

They said the sounds of violence were reportedly heard after the 79-year-old woman and the suspect entered the toilet.

Police said the elderly woman was found unconscious, with head and neck injuries, and a skull fracture. She was later certified dead at the hospital.

The case will be mentioned at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Court on Friday.
