Part of the old golf course at Fanling will begin a new life as a park from September 4, officials announced on Sunday.
The land, east of Fan Kam Road, will open for public use from 11am, after work is completed to remove trees blown down by Super Typhoon Saola.
The facilities include a park for pets, a walking trail and a car park, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department said.
The government has taken back 32 hectares of land from the Hong Kong Golf Club. Nine hectares are earmarked for public housing.
