Hong Kong has been struck by several landslides on top of the widespread flooding, with officials warning people that slopes across the territory could still pose a danger.
Boulders came cascading down in Shau Kei Wan at around 8.30am on Friday, blocking Yiu Hing Road.
A couple of hours earlier there was a landslide on Stanley Gap Road, which police later closed off for safety reasons.
The Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) said there had been six landslides on Hong Kong Island and another in the New Territories.
Meanwhile, floods led to multiple cases of road subsidence.
A seven-seater ended up in a huge hole at the intersection of Repulse Bay Road and Island Road.
Police said nobody was in the vehicle at the time and they had to inform the owner what had happened.
Officers said they also had to close roads around Wong Ma Kok Path in Stanley after subsidence there.
The GEO urged people to stay away from slopes and heed the instructions of officials if evacuation orders are made.
"Residents living close to slopes should stay in rooms furthest away from slopes or on high floors if possible," the office said.
Motorists were also advised to avoid driving or parking in hilly areas.
