Hong Kong stocks extended the previous day's gains at the open on Friday, tracking a rally on Wall Street, as investors await the release of key Chinese economic data.

The Hang Seng Index gained 0.59 percent to 18,154.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.23 percent to 3,133, while the Shenzhen Composite Index added 0.17 percent to 1,920. (AFP)
