Rowers Cheung Hoi-lam and Leung King-wan won a silver medal in the women's pair rowing event at the 19th Asian Games on Monday.
The pair finished with a time of 7 minutes 42 seconds, almost ten seconds behind China's Wang Tingting and Zhang Xuan.
Cheung said their teamwork has improved significantly leading up to the race. Meanwhile, Leung said that their opponents definitely gave them a challenge.
She said, “China won gold and South Korea won silver in the last Asian Games. Even though there were only three regions competing in this event, the race was challenging for us. I think our performance showed we deserved this result.”
The SAR team were lagging behind a South Korean team in the first 1,000 metres, but overtook them in the end to finish second.
