Hong Kong added two more medals to its tally to end Day 7 of the Asian Games, with one being its first ever medal in Esports.

Yuen Pak-lam, Yip Ho-lam, Law Hing-lung, Chan Cheuk-kit, and Yip Wai-lam earned the silver in the computer game, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, after losing to China 2-0.

This is the first time that Esports has been a medal event at the Asian Games.

On the court, the women's squash team, who won gold at the previous games, settled for silver after losing 1-2 to Malaysia.

Tong Tsz-wing gave the territory a head start after beating Rachel Arnold 3-2 in match one.

Ho Tsz-lok, who was part of the winning team in Jakarta in 2018, unfortunately couldn't beat Subramaniam Sivasangari in the second match, losing 0-3 to put the SAR and Malaysia at an overall tie.

Chan Sin-yuk and Aifa Binti Azman then went head to head in the crucial last round, with Malaysia coming out on top 1-3.

Fourth member Lee Ka-yi did not participate in the final, but contributed to their win against India in the semi-final match.

After the competition, Ho told HOY TV that the team will keep improving on their game.

"I didn't play to my usual standards. I felt the pressure even more when I was losing 0-2. The four of us, we all tried our best. We hope to come back stronger at the next Games," she said.

Elsewhere, triathlete Bailee Brown missed out on the podium after coming sixth in the women's individual event. She completed the race in two hours, four minutes and 28 seconds.

In roller skating, Vanessa Wong also finished sixth in the women's 10,000 metres point-elimination race.

And in athletics, Vera Lui advanced to the final of the women's 100 metres hurdles, after qualifying with a time of 13.24 seconds in her heat. Meanwhile, Theophilus Chan will be competing in the men's long jump final.

After seven days of competition, China top the table, followed by Japan, and Korea in third.

Hong Kong are now eighth in the standings, with five gold, 15 silver and 18 bronze medals.
