Hong Kong swimmer Chan Yui-lam on Tuesday won a gold medal in the women’s 100-metre backstroke S-14 event at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou.
Chan took the lead in the first 50 metres, and she finished the race in one minute and 9.15 seconds.
She was just under a second faster than Japanese swimmer Kinoshita Aira.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s Cheung Ho-ying ranked fourth in the same event, finishing in one minute and 14.18 seconds.
