Hong Kong athletes continued their strong start to the Asian Para Games, winning five more medals on Day Two to double their total tally.

The first came on the piste, as the men's sabre team of Sean Glass, Chan Wing-kin, and Kwong Yuen-hing claimed a silver medal. After easing to victory in both their quarter-final and semi-final matches, they ultimately lost out to the team from Thailand, 38-45, in the gold medal match.

"I want to thank the Paralympic Committee and the Sports Association for the Physically Disabled for giving us the chance to compete and bring honour to Hong Kong," said Kwong after the final. "I hope there are more opportunities in the future to practice and compete."

More success soon followed in the fencing. This time for the SAR's women's foil team of Chung Yuen-ping, Yu Chui-yee, Lam Ka-man and Fan Pui-shan, who also won silver after being beaten by China, 28-45, in the final.

In the Aquatics Arena, Hong Kong swimmer Chan Yui-lam won the territory's second gold medal of the Games – in the women’s 100m backstroke S14 final. Chan was out ahead within the first 50 metres and finished in a time of one minute 9.15 seconds, just under a second faster than Japanese swimmer Kinoshita Aira.

Chan was in the pool again just two hours later, this time as part of the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay S14 squad who won silver. Chan's team, including Tang Wai-lok, Cheung Tsun-lok and Cheung Ho-ying, finished in three minutes and 55.20 seconds, 1.57 seconds slower than the team from Japan.

And there was a final silver in the men's singles B3 lawn bowls for Iron Tang. He lost 15-6 to China's Song Jinqi, who took home the gold. Tang will play alongside the SAR's Chan Ka-man in the mixed pairs event on Day 3.

Hong Kong has a total of 10 medals after two days of competition, two gold, five silver, three bronze, enough to put them tenth in the medals table.
