The police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tai Po on Thursday in which a 73-year-old male minibus driver died.

At about 8:30 pm the minibus was heading south along Nam Wan Road when the driver apparently lost control as he was turning right into Kwong Fuk Road, and rammed into a kerb.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and rescued by firemen. He was rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital with serious injuries and certified dead about an hour later.

A 58-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries in the accident.
