President Xi Jinping said it's important to strengthen the rule of law related to foreign affairs, to promote a high level of opening up to the outside world and respond to external risks.
In remarks made during a study session of the Communist Party's Politburo on Monday, Xi highlighted the need to create law-based governance conditions and a favourable external environment for advancing Chinese modernisation.
He stressed the need to foster a foreign-related legal system and capacity that meet the needs of high-quality development and high-standard opening-up.
Xi also said it's necessary to deepen international cooperation in law enforcement, strengthen consular protection and assistance, and build a strong rule of law security chain to protect China's overseas interests. (Xinhua/Reuters)
