A 56-year-old man has died after bungee jumping from Macau Tower on Sunday, authorities there have confirmed.

Officials said the Japanese man experienced shortness of breath and subsequently lost consciousness shortly after the 233-metre jump at around 4pm.

He stopped breathing and had no heartbeat when paramedics arrived, and died after being rushed to the hospital.

Authorities said the man had no apparent injuries, and they’re still trying to ascertain the cause of his death.
