The Labour Department said it's investigating a fatal industrial accident in Tseung Kwan O, where a worker was suspected to have been electrocuted.
The man, 42, was carrying out works in a residential building when he was believed to have experienced an electric shock. He died later at Tseung Kwan O Hospital.
In a statement, the department said it has issued suspension notices to the contractors involved.
"We will complete the investigation as soon as possible to identify the cause of the accident, ascertain the liability of the duty holders and recommend improvement measures. We will take actions pursuant to the law if there is any violation of the work safety legislation," labour officials said.
The department added that it will issue a work safety alert to the industry, reminding them to follow safety precautionary measures to prevent similar accidents.
