Hong Kong stocks rose on Wednesday as bargain-buyers stepped in after three days of losses following soft US jobs data that reinforced optimism the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates in the new year.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.8 percent, or 135 points, to 16,463.
The Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.1 percent, or 3 points, to 2,968, and the Shenzhen Composite Index added 0.6 percent, or 10 points, to 1,855. (AFP)
