Some residents on Saturday said the activities organised by the government ahead of the district council elections were a good reminder for people to vote, while others saw them as a great way to spend their weekend.

At an event at Wan Chai waterfront, a man surnamed Pak told RTHK he enjoyed the activities.

"Voting is important, so I plan to vote early on Sunday," he said.

Another woman said she planned to vote in the afternoon as her usual Sunday morning routine was to sleep in.

One man, surnamed Ho, said he had not yet decided whether to vote.

"I will see if I have time to vote in the morning because I have to work in the afternoon," he said.

At another event in Kowloon Park, a man surnamed Lau said he appreciated the efforts to raise awareness of civic responsibility.

"The activities are raising awareness among the next generation about voting and exercising their civic responsibility," he said.

Senior officials, including the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Kevin Yeung, and the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Christopher Hui, attended various events to promote the district council elections.
