The turnout rate for the District Council election’s District Committees constituency (DCC) was 96.92 percent after polling for the sector ended on Sunday afternoon.
A total of 2,454 electors for this constituency – government-appointed members of three local bodies, namely, the area, fire safety and fight crime committees – picked 176 councillors out of 228 candidates.
Polling for the DCC wrapped up at 2.30pm.
Meanwhile, the voter turnout for geographical constituencies as of 7.30 pm on Sunday was over a million people -- or around 24.53 percent of eligible voters.
