One of Hong Kong's largest annual outdoor fairs returned to Victoria Park on Saturday, with crowds flocking to Causeway Bay to look for deals.
Organised by the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, the Brands and Products Expo will run until January 8.
Chief Executive John Lee was among the first customers, spending more than HK$3,400 on goods, including a bag for his wife, dried oysters for his mother, as well as some snacks.
"I hope everyone can enjoy the atmosphere, and shop, eat and have fun with their families during the day, and then enjoy different nighttime events. I wish that everyone's happiness will last until Christmas and the new year," he said.
Earlier, a shopper, surnamed Yuen, secured a HK$1 abalone set after queuing for two hours ahead of the opening.
"I'm so happy. It's my first time," she said. "I am going to give this to my daughter who's in Japan."
A vendor told RTHK that she had set aside more goods to be sold at the fair, and expects business to grow by a fifth.
This year's 24-day fair, which features 900 outdoor booths, also marks the return of food sales.
