A Government Flying Service helicopter on Saturday rescued two crew members of a fishing boat, that eventually sank after taking on water, 20 kilometres east of Dangan Island.
The Hong Kong Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre reported the incident just before 1 pm.
The two crew members, who had been in the sea, were taken to Eastern Hospital about an hour and 15 minutes later.
A Government Flying Service fixed wing aircraft also took part in the rescue.
In a statement, the Government Flying Service said the reported wind speed at the scene had been 74 kilometres per hour, with the waves at 5.5 metres, and the water temperature at 23 degrees Celsius.
