Chief Executive John Lee on Wednesday thanked the mainland authorities for their support in helping Hong Kong integrate into the country’s development.
He met with the chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, Zheng Shanjie, on the last day of his duty visit to Beijing.
The CE thanked the commission for supporting Hong Kong’s efforts in consolidating and realising the development of the eight centres as outlined in the country’s 14th Five-Year Plan.
He also thanked the authorities for supporting Hong Kong’s role in national strategies, such as the development of the Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Initiative.
During his four-day visit, Lee met with state leaders, including President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. He is returning to the SAR on Wednesday evening.
