Ocean Park has announced the death of its oldest male dolphin, Molly, who was aged 40.
The park said in a statement that the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin became weak on New Year's Eve and died on Thursday.
It said its veterinary and animal care team provided round-the-clock care for Molly, who lived at its Marine Mammal Breeding and Research Centre.
"Our dedicated team at Ocean Park is always committed to ensuring the welfare and providing specialist care for our ageing animal ambassadors," it said.
A necropsy will be carried out by the park to determine the exact cause of Molly's death.
Ocean Park encourages visitors to take part in guided tours where they can learn about and appreciate the daily lives and care of its dolphins.
