A pregnant woman who was hit by a truck in Kwun Tong earlier this week died on Thursday.

The 31-year-old was crossing the road on Tuesday afternoon when the accident happened.

She suffered serious head injuries and remained in a critical condition after being rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital.

The woman passed away at about 11.30am on Thursday.

Police earlier arrested the 59-year-old truck driver on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. He has been released on bail.

Officers later laid a holding charge of dangerous driving causing death against the driver.

The case will be mentioned at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts on Friday morning.
